Mountsorrel Community Support Fund is funded directly and only by Mountsorrel United Charities which has the sole function to distribute funds to the Mountsorrel Educational Fund, Mountsorrel Church of England Fund and Mountsorrel Community Support Fund.
· In 2025 the Mountsorrel United Charities granted a total of £145,000 to Mountsorrel Community Support Fund to further its work in the local community.
· The Mountsorrel Community Support Fund (previously known as the Relief in Need Fund) helps local residents in times of need.
· We help by providing essential items such as appliances and furniture, mobility equipment, and by paying for services that will improve quality of life for those in greatest need.
· In 2025 we helped 101 local households by making 114 grants.
· Mountsorrel Community Support Fund also makes grants to organisations that help people in need in Mountsorrel. This enables our funds to go further by reaching those who use these services. In the past year this has included funding for Your Store; for the Financial Coach service at Soar Valley Community Money Advice; and support for vulnerable girls through the Love4Life project. A total of £42,180 was awarded to these three projects in 2025.
· We’re working towards separating the joint board of trustees that governs Mountsorrel United Charities and Mountsorrel Community Support Fund into two separate boards, each with their own set of trustees. We expect this separation to happen in May. This landmark decision marks a long-awaited milestone for the charities, so that they can be governed independently from now on.
